Kimimaro was given the "Gaia" seal by Orochimaru, it is said to be equal in power to the "Heaven" seal given to Anko and Sasuke.

When Kimimaro activates his Level 1 seal, the seal first spreads in a tearing, rip-like pattern, but it grows more abstract as it moves over the body. He gains the ability to better use his bloodline bone manipulation ability. This allows him to remove bones at will, and also extend bones from any point on his body. When he removes a bone, his body will simply regenerate the missing bone.

When Kimimaro activates his Level 2 seal, his body takes on a more spiked appearance. Large portruding bone spikes emerge from his shoulder blades and a long spiked tail extends from his tail bone. While in this form he can also remove his spinal column to form a large flexible staff.

Karamatsu no Mai is a form of Taijutsu developed by Kimimaro to take advantange of his cursed seal and bloodline ability. It is the third of five dance forms. After activating the level one cursed seal form, Kimimaro will begin to extend multiple bones from his body. Both from his rib cage and his radius and ulna. Because they are hard as steel, these bones can act as a strong defensive mechanism against incoming strikes. Due to this they will also serve as an offensive attack to allow Kimimaro to move with little effort to impale his opponent.

Sawarabi no Mai is the fifth of five dance forms. After activating the level two cursed seal form, Kimimaro quickly grows a multitude of tall spikes from his body to create a large forest of bone. While in this form he himself can merge into the bone trees to attack his target from whichever spike he wants.

Teshi Sendan is a Taijutsu technique utilized by the Sound ninja Kimimaro. Using his bloodline abilities unique Shikotsu Myaku (Corpse Bone Pathways) ability, Kimimaro will use his fingers to fire his distal phalange bones as bullets. As the bones fly through the air, they will rotate and drill into their target once they make contact.

Tessenka no Mai is a form of Taijutsu developed by Kimimaro to take advantage of his cursed seal and bloodline ability. It is the fourth of five dance forms. He performs it after activating his level two cursed seal form.

Tessenka no Mai • Hana - Dance of the Clematis • Flower

Using this dance Kimimaro will also form a large flowering bone spear which he can also use to pierce any shield his opponent raises. The spear is said to be nearly indestructible, but Kimimaro's failing health makes such a statement questionable.

Tessenka no Mai • Tsuru - Dance of the Clematis • Vine

Kimimaro will remove his spinal column from his back to create a flexible bone vine. Because the vine is flexible, it can wrap itself around an opponent to rip them to pieces.

Tsubaki no Mai is a form of Taijutsu developed by Kimimaro to take advantange of his cursed seal and bloodline ability. It is the second of five dance forms. Using his ability to manipulate his bone structure, Kimimaro will remove a long bone in the form of a sword from his shoulder. Because of the bloodline, the density of the bone can be increased many times so that it is as hard as steel. Using fluid and precise movements, he will then cut through any opponent within striking distance.

Using fluid and precise movements, he will then impale his opponents.
